At Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, we believe research and innovation are critical to the advancement of cancer care, which is why we are committed to the relentless pursuit of better treatments, cures and community engagement.
Ellis Fischel is part of University of Missouri Health Care, an academic health system that is uniquely built for scientific collaboration. As a cancer center located at one of only six universities in the nation with a medical school, veterinary medicine college, engineering school and law school on the same campus, as well as the nation's most powerful research reactor, producer of the majority of the nation's supply of medically relevant radioisotopes, and the University of Missouri's NextGen Precision Health initiative, we've built an infrastructure that allows us to maximize our efforts to develop groundbreaking research.
This gives us the ability to help patients by leveraging the latest research and leading-edge treatments, therapies, and clinical trials in their care.
Learn about clinical trials
Our experts are enrolling patients in clinical trials that will deliver better treatment today and improve the lives of countless other cancer patients in the future.
Past and present clinical trials have included treatment, prevention, screening, and supportive/palliative care studies. If you're interested in participating in a clinical trial, talk to your doctor or see our active clinical trials.
Research goals
Ellis Fischel membership includes clinical and research leaders from MU Health Care as well as faculty experts from multiple schools and colleges across the University of Missouri System. Members have a shared goal of using research to drive innovation that results in accessible, value-based cancer treatment and prevention programs.
Research goals
- Build cancer research capacity and capabilities with a focus on team-based initiatives that leverage knowledge from multiple disciplines
- Foster meaningful and productive collaborations between investigators and clinicians.
A growing team
Because we believe research and innovation are critical to the advancement of cancer care, we are committed to investing in the people, technology and facilities needed in our relentless pursuit of better treatments and cures.
Our researchers have access to coveted animal models, leading-edge technology, and informatics expertise to transform their ideas into discoveries, and our clinics, programs and partnerships throughout the state allow us to create an informational pipeline that allows our state's highest health care needs to be represented and addressed in our research.
Our researchers and clinicians have access to our electronic health records, biostatistics and data analytics support, project coordinators and clinical trial infrastructure. And our Ellis Fischel clinical trials office assists with trials in areas of treatment, prevention, screening, and supportive/palliative care studies.
