Injectables
Whether you’re interested in creating symmetry in your lips or cheeks, reducing laugh lines and wrinkles or other cosmetic changes to your face, our experts can help you achieve the look you want safely and effectively.
At MU Health Care, our cosmetic and aesthetic specialists offer an understanding and supportive space to talk and ask questions about changing your appearance without surgery. These services are broadly called injectables.
Neurotoxin injections
Botox and Dysport are brand names of botulinum toxin A, an injectable neurotoxin used to temporarily relax muscle tissue and smoothen textured skin. These products are safe and effective when used by trained experts. Neurotoxin injections are commonly used to:
- Reduce the appearance of lines at the face and neck. Common places include forehead, 11 lines between brows, crow's feet, bunny lines at the nose, jaw and cheek muscles, and neck muscles
- Change the appearance of a smile by making gums less visible
- Create a 'lip flip,' by pushing the upper lip out
Each person’s body and needs are different, so our nurses will talk with you about your goals to make sure you receive the correct dosage. Toxin injections take 10 minutes or less, and you can expect minimal discomfort and down time.
Filler injections
Fillers use a gel form of hyaluronic acid, which your body produces naturally, to increase the amount of collagen in your skin. These fillers create volume and provide contours and shape in prominent facial features including the:
- Cheeks
- Jaw and chin
- Temples
- Lips and perioral area
- Nose
Our nurses use topical anesthetic so you experience minimal discomfort, and filler injections contain lidocaine to make the injection as painless as possible.
Am I a candidate for cosmetic injectables?
Generally, cosmetic injectables are an option for most people. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should not receive cosmetic injectables. When you schedule your appointment, we will ask you some questions to make sure these treatments are safe for you.
Our staff will discuss risks, benefits, side effects, expectations following injections and answer any questions you have during your first visit. That evaluation includes a medical history review and a complimentary skin evaluation to make sure we are able to personalize the recommendations we give you.
Rewards
Services offered at our Plastic Surgery and Med Spa location are eligible for cosmetics rewards programs. We partner with Aspire and Allē, which offer discounts and other benefits to patients who receive cosmetic treatments including injectables. If interested, please feel free to ask one of our team members for more information.
