Effective April 1, 2025, MU Health Care will be out of network with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield's (Anthem's) Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO plans. This means you may or may not have to pay more out of pocket to see MU Health Care doctors and care teams or you may need to find a new, in-network provider for your care.
This change will not impact MU Health Care's retail pharmacy services, allowing Mizzou Pharmacy locations to continue serving Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO patients with in-network coverage.
We know how important it is for you to be able to access convenient, local health care services you trust, and we want to be sure you are able to get the care you need and deserve.
Here is what you should know:
- Anthem Medicare Supplement members may be able to continue to see MU Health Care providers; members should contact Anthem regarding increased out-of-pocket costs.
- Anthem Medicare Advantage PPO members have out-of-network benefits and may be able to continue to see MU Health Care providers; call Anthem about increased out-of-pocket costs.
- Anthem Medicare Advantage HMO members may call the number on the back of their Anthem Medicare Advantage ID card to better understand their options. Customer Service associates are available to answer questions from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
