About
Vikas Satyananda, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon and surgical oncologist who treats cancers in the abdomen. Dr. Satyananda offers minimally invasive robotic surgery for cancer of the liver, pancreas, gall bladder and bile ducts — the human hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) system — and treats stomach and intestinal cancers. He has an interest in helping patients treat advanced (Stage IV) cancers and peritoneal surface malignancies.
Dr. Satyananda’s approach to patient care begins with understanding each patient’s values and goals, as well as any concerns they may have about their cancer treatment. This helps him tailor treatment plans to align with what matters most to patients, work with them through shared decision-making and offer emotional support.
Reading and cooking help Dr. Satyananda relax outside of work. He and his husband enjoy spending time together outdoors, hiking and traveling the world to visit family and new places. They have a cat named Lucy.
