About

Eamon O’Reilly, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon and plastic surgeon. He performs complex cancer and trauma reconstruction including breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction and extremity reconstruction, as well as cosmetic breast and body surgery. Dr. O’Reilly is trained in 3D software for surgical planning and 3D printing to tailor his procedures to the goals and needs of each patient. Dr. O’Reilly’s mother was a flight nurse for the Alaska Native Villages which inspired him to pursue a career in medicine and service. He fulfilled that goal during a 20-year career as a plastic surgeon based at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. O’Reilly knows each patient has a different desire for the outcome of their surgery, and the most important part is listening carefully to their goals to make sure they are met.

Dr. O’Reilly and his wife Tara have two adult children. He is an avid cyclist, participating in races across the United States, and enjoys building classic cars and trucks in his spare time.

Research Interests

Eamon O’Reilly, MD, is a general and plastic surgeon who is clinically interested in the restoration of normal form and function in trauma or cancer reconstruction. Additionally, he focuses on leveraging technology for surgical success, such as 3D printing and virtual surgical planning (VSP) of complex patients.

Dr. O’Reilly’s research work is highlighted by immediate jaw-in-a-day 3D design for surgical reconstruction of the mandible. He incorporates other specialties in his research work including general surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery and physical therapy.
