About
Ashley Wilbers, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon who treats benign and malignant breast tumors and other conditions including the management of high lifetime risk of breast cancer. Her surgical procedures include skin and nipple-sparing mastectomy and hidden scar surgery.
Dr. Wilbers believes doctors can bring compassion, hope and comfort into stressful and vulnerable moments. She provides individualized care to meet each patient’s unique needs and goals, and she understands that a person's circumstances and experiences can play a significant role in how effective it will be for them.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Wilbers has two kids and one very large dog and enjoys spending time outside with them.

Research Profile
Ashley Wilbers, MD, is a surgeon and researcher with a clinical interest in providing high quality and compassionate medical care to patients with a range of breast pathology including both benign and malignant diagnoses. Dr. Wilbers is interested in research to address the differences and disparities in rural cancer care. Her research work includes a National Cancer Database study analyzing the use of sentinel lymph node biopsy in elderly patients, comparing those from rural and urban areas. Her research work involves the public health application of rural disparities research.
