Tomorrow’s Health Care Experts Expo to provide immersive experiences for high school and middle school students

MU Health Care is inviting area high school and middle school students to learn about career opportunities in the health care industry through an immersive learning experience.

Tomorrow’s Health Care Experts Expo (T.H.E. Expo) is an annual event that’s part of MU Health Care’s commitment to spread awareness of health care careers in mid-Missouri.

This year’s event will take place on Friday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Columbia Holiday Inn Executive Center. Participating students will visit stations showcasing lab and imaging positions, respiratory therapy, social work, business support roles, facilities and operations, nursing, medical specialties and more.

Students will be able to engage with professionals from different health care specialties, they will also immerse themselves in hands-on experiences within those career paths, including exploring ambulances, reading X-rays and looking at blood cells under a microscope.

“We are investing in our future by sharing the wide array of career options available right here in the community to the health care leaders of tomorrow,” said Ric Ransom, CEO of MU Health Care. “With so many career paths available there is a place for everyone in the field of health care.”

T.H.E. Expo is open to middle and high schools across the region. More information about registration can be found at muhealth.org/THEexpo.
