Free event will feature speakers, vendors and breakfast 

MU Health Care’s 11th annual Parkinson’s Disease Patient and Caregiver Conference will take place Oct. 5 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia.

The conference will feature six experts from MU Health Care in neurology, psychology, psychiatry, urology and pharmacy who will share resources and information about managing the physical and mental impacts of Parkinson’s disease and the latest treatment options.

Attendees will be provided breakfast, and vendors will be on hand to showcase relevant resources, technology and support for patients and caregivers.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disorder that affects the nervous system and causes uncontrollable shaking, stiffness and difficulty with balance and coordination. Nearly one million Americans are currently living with Parkinson’s.
