Thirteen MU Health Care surgeons were also honored for the quality and quantity of their published research
MU Health Care has been selected by Avant-Garde Health as a Healthcare Research All-Star, ranking in the top 5% of hospitals publishing leading-edge health care research.
The Healthcare Research All-Star Awards honor the outstanding surgeons and hospitals whose contributions to research significantly enhance the quality of patient care. The study examined the research of more than 4,000 hospitals and 90,000 surgeons and includes only the top 5% based on the quantity and quality of their published research.
In addition to MU Health Care’s institutional recognition, 13 MU Health Care surgeons were named Healthcare Research All-Stars and ranked within the top 5% of their specialty.
Orthopaedic surgeons Mauricio Kfuri, MD, Clayton Nuelle, MD, Elie Ghanem, MD, and Daniel London, MD, were listed in the top 5%. Steven DeFroda, MD, H. Mike Kim, MD, Matthew Smith, MD, and James Stannard, MD, were listed in the top 3%. James Keeney, MD, and Brett Crist, MD, ranked in the top 1%.
Vascular surgeons Todd Vogel, MD, and Jonathan Bath, MD, ranked in the top 3%. Structural cardiologist Chirag Bavishi, MD, also ranked in the top 3% for the cardiothoracic surgery category.
Avant-Garde Health initiated the publication of the Healthcare Research All-Stars to honor the outstanding surgeons and hospitals whose contributions to health care research significantly enhance the quality of patient care.
