This is the 14th consecutive year MU Health Care has been recognized

For the 14th year in a row, University of Missouri Health Care is recognized as a leader in digital health care innovation, earning the 2024 “Most Wired” designation from The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).

Among the more than 48,000 organizations surveyed by CHIME, MU Health Care ranked above peers in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. The survey assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in health care organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.

“When we can use technology to improve the convenience, efficiency and quality of the care we provide, everyone benefits,” said Thomas Selva, MD, MU Health Care chief medical information officer. “Our goal to provide the best possible patient experience has been the key driver in each innovative step forward.”

The Digital Health Most Wired survey and recognition program serves as a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-up” for healthcare organizations across the world. As success in digital health increasingly determines the quality of patient care, the scope of the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey reflects the progress of leading healthcare providers as they reinvent healthcare for a new century.

MU Health Care’s health IT operations are led by the Tiger Institute for Health Innovation, a unique private-public partnership between the University of Missouri and Oracle Health. The Tiger Institute was formed more than a decade ago as a model for leveraging industry collaboration and better health care. Their work to date has improved the health and safety of patients, reduced costs and shaped the future of care for Missouri and beyond.

“This honor is an important recognition of how MU Health Care utilizes technology to better care for our patients,” said Deb Dow, chief information officer for MU Health Care. “Our consistent recognition over the past 14 years is a testament to our institution’s continued commitment to leveraging technology to innovate on behalf of the patients we serve.”
