Continued collaboration speaks to a shared, ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of patients across Mid-Missouri

University of Missouri Health Care and UnitedHealthcare have reached an agreement on a contract extension, marking a new chapter in their continued commitment to providing high-quality care to the region.

This agreement ensures UnitedHealthcare members will have continued access to affordable care through MU Health Care's providers and facilities for multiple years to come.

“We are incredibly proud to have UnitedHealthcare as a trusted partner willing to stand alongside us through our region’s challenging health care and economic environment,” said Dr. Steve Whitt, MU Health Care’s chief medical officer. “The extension of our agreement underscores our shared dedication to the health of our state and the best interests of our patients and allows us to focus on what truly matters – providing outstanding care to our community and bringing stability to the local health care marketplace.”

The contract extension applies to UnitedHealthcare commercial members who get their insurance through their employer or the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace, in addition to Medicare Advantage plans.

“This agreement ensures continued access to quality, affordable care for the people we serve throughout Missouri,” said Gloria Sargent, CEO of UnitedHealthcare commercial plans in Missouri. “We appreciate MU Health Care’s collaboration as we work together to improve the quality and cost of care.”
