Yousef Gohary, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon who has additional fellowship training in pediatric surgical oncology and pediatric colorectal surgery. He provides minimally invasive, robotic and traditional surgical procedures to treat cancers, colorectal conditions, chest wall deformities and congenital birth defects in children.

As a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Gohary has a passion and curiosity for improving the lives of children and their families. His role is one of support and comfort for children and their families.

Dr. Gohary was a three-time college squash champion in Ireland and still enjoys playing when he has time. He and his wife have three young children.

Research Profile

Yousef Gohary, MD, is a pediatric surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgeries for pediatric conditions including surgical oncology, colorectal surgery and chest wall deformity and other birth defects. He was inspired to be a pediatric surgeon because of a mentor and is excited to train future generations of pediatric surgeons.

Dr. Gohary’s research work includes published clinical data recommending against partial splenectomy in patients with sickle cell disease and basic science research working with immunologists to document the growth of pancreatic ducts into islets and demonstrate that alpha cells convert to beta cells after partial pancreatectomy in mice.
