About

Marc E. Shelton, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist with more than 40 years of experience in providing general and interventional cardiology care to patients. He helps patients manage and treat coronary artery disease and high blood pressure (hypertension), as well as prevent and recover from heart attack (myocardial infarction).

Dr. Shelton enjoys the challenge of finding answers to the clinical problems of his patients by listening to them and working with them on their goals. He wants each patient to live a long, high-functioning life.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, playing golf and following the professional careers of his children and grandchildren.

Marc E. Shelton, MD, FACC, is a physician and researcher interested in clinical research around the issue of blood clotting and atherosclerotic plaque rupture. Dr. Shelton loves the practice of academic medicine and bringing together patients, fellows, residents and researchers to drive cardiology care forward. His research efforts include work on the issue of reducing acute closure of cardiac stents in humans.
