About

Brett Chamberlain, MD, is an inpatient psychiatrist who holds board certifications in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He is trained to help patients manage and treat conditions including autism, psychosis, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders and emotional and psychological trauma. Dr. Chamberlain is interested in combining medication management with relationship-building and therapy to help patients.

Dr. Chamberlain chose to become a physician because he enjoyed the idea of entering into a challenging field of study, and because of a family history of practicing medicine. His family has deep ties to northwest Missouri and the Midwest. In his practice, he believes the range of normal human experience is wide and avoids unnecessary diagnostic labeling. Although medication is sometimes the best treatment for a patient, Dr. Chamberlain focuses on nonmedical interventions such as healthy sleep hygiene, healthy eating, regular physical activity and in-person social interactions to help people build an understanding of the self.

He and his wife of 12 years are passionate about rescue animals, and their group of pets includes cats, dogs, horses, ducks and a donkey. In his free time, Dr. Chamberlain cares for the animals, gardens, does pottery and reads.
