Blood Cultures Performed in Emergency Room Prior to Initial Antibiotic Received in Hospital


This measures the percentage of pneumonia patients who received a blood test in the emergency room before receiving their first dose of antibiotic drugs. A blood culture can help identify which type of bacteria caused your pneumonia, and it helps your doctor determine which kind of antibiotic to prescribe.
