Matthew Smith, MD, specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery. A graduate of Creighton University, he completed his fellowship at the University of Missouri Health Care and Shriner's Hospital for Children in St. Louis. He also completed fellowship training at the Rothman Institute, Thomas Jefferson Medical College, Philadelpha, Pa. In Philadelphia, he worked with atheles from the Philadelphia Phillies Major League Baseball team, and the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. 

In 2005, Dr. Smith was awarded both the American Orthopaedic Association's Resident Leadership award in addition to the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery's Litton award.  He was inducted into Phi Sigma, the Biology Honor Society, in 1995.
