David Volgas, MD, specializes in orthopaedic trauma as well as fragility fractures. Dr. Volgas earned his medical degree from University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences. He completed his residency at Eisenhower Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.  He is a Diplomat of both the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

He is currently conducting research on the role of inflammatory mediators in multi-trauma patients, is evaluating the soft tissue injury and its effect on fracture healing, and is working to identify incidence and treatment of depression in orthopaedic trauma patients.
