Beginning January 1, 2007, Medicare will offer a free, one-time ultrasound screening process to check for one of the vascular diseases, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. Men who have smoked sometime during their lifetime and men and women with a family history of AAA are eligible for his screening as part of their Welcome to Medicare physical.
