World-Class Care
MU Children's Hospital's Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic offers comprehensive, leading-edge care for children with endocrine disorders of all types. Our team consists of world-class physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, social workers and other health care specialists who provide care for children from infancy through adolescence. All of our health care experts work together to provide each young patient the individualized care he or she needs throughout their childhood. Our clinic offers the only board certified pediatric endocrinologists in Missouri outside of Kansas City and St. Louis and routinely serves patients throughout the entire Midwest region.
Pediatric Endocrine Specialists
The endocrine system is the body's chemical messaging system. This system involves glands that produce hormones that are instrumental in regulating things like growth and development, mood, tissue function, metabolism, sexual function and the reproductive system. Our pediatric endocrinologists have both extensive training and significant experience in treating diseases and disorders that affect this endocrine system in children.
They recognize that children are not simply small adults. Instead, they have unique health care needs as their bodies are growing, changing and developing over the course of their childhood. All of our health care experts understand both the physical and emotional needs of their young patients and tailor their care toward addressing every facet of their young patients' health.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Approach
Our method for diagnosing and treating pediatric endocrine disorders is to offer exceptional, individualized and compassionate care from a team of specialists who can best recognize and treat every aspect of a child's condition. We believe it is extremely important to offer our young patients this team approach and insist on providing access to care that is a collaboration of the expertise of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians and social workers. Endocrine disorders, including diabetes, can touch a child's life in a wide variety of ways, so we rely on the expertise of our entire pediatric team to address the different nuances of each child's diagnosis.
