COLUMBIA, Mo. — Scott Hofferber joined University Physicians as its executive director on June 15. University Physicians is the multispecialty practice of more than 440 doctors affiliated with University of Missouri Health Care.

“Mr. Hofferber will bring skills in strategic planning and business development that will compliment our continuing efforts of delivering excellent, patient-centered, compassionate care,” said Hung Winn, M.D., chair of University Physicians and the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health.

Hofferber received a degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Nebraska.

From 1999 to 2009, Hofferber has served as chief operating officer of the University of California – San Diego Medical Group. From 1991 to 1999, he served as an administrator at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga. From 1989 to 1991 Hofferber was business manager of The Carter Center, an Atlanta-based human rights organization.

Hofferber also served as an officer in the Army National Guard from 1979 to 1989.
