University of Missouri Health Care News Releases
Ellis Fischel Cancer Center to Host Mammothon for After-hours Breast Cancer Screening

Ellis Fischel Cancer Center will host its first after-hours mammothon breast-cancer screening event from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, Sept. 28, and 6 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 29, at the cancer center, located at 115 Business Loop 70 W.

"Mammography is the best screening technique we have for catching breast cancer early, when it's most treatable," said Paul Dale, M.D., chief of surgical oncology of Ellis Fischel Cancer Center and the Margaret Proctor Mulligan Distinguished Professor in Medical Research. "We're offering this event to make it easier for women to find time for a potentially life-saving mammogram."

In addition to breast screenings, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center staff at the mammothon will provide information and education about breast cancer, as well as refreshments, door prizes and free gifts.

Mammograms will be available by appointment only. For more information or to make an appointment, please call Ellis Fischel Cancer Center at (573) 882-8511.
