The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

The cardiac catheterization laboratory at University Hospital is completely equipped to perform a wide array of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, ranging from percutaneous coronary artery and peripheral vascular interventions to catheter-based closure of atrial septal defects. The cardiac catheterization laboratory at University Hospital contains three suites and is located immediately adjacent to the cardiac intensive care unit. More than 1,900 invasive cardiovascular procedures were performed in the University Hospital cardiac catheterization laboratory in 2009. University of Missouri Health Care cardiologists also perform invasive procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratories at the Harry S Truman Veterans Affairs Medical Center (HSTVAMC). In 2010, University of Missouri Health Care cardiologists performed more than 975 invasive cardiovascular procedures at the HSTVAMC.
