Injury Prevention and Outreach Education
Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death in the U.S. from ages one to 44. As mid-Missouri's only ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center, the Frank L. Mitchell Jr., MD, Trauma Center at University Hospital is not only committed to the treatment of nearly 1,200 trauma patients each year, but also to providing patients, clients, and the broader community with proactive trauma prevention and education offerings.
Working in collaboration with schools, community groups and other health care providers, the Frank L. Mitchell Jr., MD, Injury Prevention Program participates in many community events and functions over a multi-county area to address specific injury concerns and preventative measures.
